How to Measure Width for Curtains

1. Measuring the Window:

Measure the width from outside the trim. Add extra room on each side for fabric stack (we recommend 6" per side, or 12" total). Add more if you want a full window view.

2. Measuring the Rod:

Measure the length of the installed curtain rod, excluding the finials.

Header Considerations:

• Pleated headers: Fullness is built into the design. Curtains will be made to match the measured width.
• Casual headers: Curtains will be made at 2x the measured width for proper fullness.

Opening Considerations:

• Center draw: Curtains come as a pair, with each panel covering one side of the window. 
• One-way open: Curtains come as a single panel at the full measured width. 

How to Measure Height for Curtains

1. Casual headers (curtain rods):

Measure from the top of the curtain rod to the floor. 

2. Pleated headers (clip rings or traverse rods):

Measure from the underside of the rings or carriers to the floor. 

Tip: Measure in multiple spots, as floors can be uneven. Use the longest measurement for accuracy. 

 How High to Install the Rod:

• 2/3rds rule: Mount the rod 2/3rd of the distance between the top of the window and the ceiling. For example, if there's 6 feet above the window, mount the rod 4 feet up. 
• Max height: Mount the rod as high as possible or on the ceiling for a dramatic look.
